Was the good knowledge of English language or incentive measures crucial for investment boom in Kragujevac, however Kragujevac is the city of huge investments. Huge research of daily newspaper “Kurir” showed that Kragujevac is also ready for new investors. Journalist in telephone conversation presented himself as foreign investor and in English language explained that he wants to invest money in certain municipality, and because of that he needs more information.

According to Kurir, amazement is too weak word, to describe the impression of our journalist, when one after another officials from municipalities all over Serbia answered the phone, and after few “no”-hang up.

After 25 telephone conversations with officials in 25 cities and municipalities all over the Serbia, only 25 officials showed English language knowledge.

Certain Mr. John Black in telephone conversation with officials in local self-governments in Kragujevac has received in English all requested information, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses to which he may send his suggestions, offers and questions. In attachment is the part of the text related to Kragujevac city, published in daily newspaper “Kurir” on Tuesday, on 24th of January.

Kurir: With someone from your municipality about possible investments.
Official 3: Could you please send us e-mail or fax?
Kurir: Off course.
