The Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs delegation accompanied with the representatives of Swedish consulting companies, presented “The Strategic Project of Infrastructural Development” to the members of the City Council and representatives of the public utility companies. At the meeting with the Mayor Veroljub Stevanovic that preceded, senior advisor at the Swedish Ministry Karl Edberg, pointed out that the visit aims to develop potential joint projects in the field of water supply, waste water treatment, energy efficiency, environment, long-distance heating, biogas production, traffic infrastructure.
“We would like to learn today what are the city’s priorities, as well as what are the projects we could develop together. We are prepared to co-finance project based on grants mounting up to 50 percent of the project preparation, with respect to public infrastructure consulting domain, in which Swedish companies have great experience. All that in order to assist you in developing attractive and competitive projects that will make possible for you to apply for the assets from the European funds and banks”, said Karl Edberg.
The project supported by the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been already implemented in 15 countries. When it comes to Serbia, good cooperation has been established with the City of Belgrade on realization of building the plant for processing and refinement of waste waters project, while a project in the field of environment protection at the city’s airport in Nis.
On the occasion, public utility companies also presented their projects, among which the most attractive ones could be realized with the support of the Swedish partners.
