Francophonie Days in Kragujevac
   

Serbia and France have a long and strong friendship – said H.E. Frederic Mondoloni, the Ambassador of France to Serbia at the reception on the occasion of Francophonie days in Kragujevac organized by the Mayor Radomir Nikolic with his associates. Bilateral relations among two countries are in expansion, especially in the sphere of economy. France  presence in Kragujevac is 180 years long – stressed the Mayor  Radomir Nikolic, adding that the bilateral relations of two countries started with an arrival of the French consul to Kragujevac back in 1839. The celebration of that jubilee in 2019 has also been the topic of today’s conversation. We are responsible to remind the citizens of Kragujevac that our cooperation started in 19th century and that it was due to French technology and engineers that we developed our military industry.

In addition, prospective new investments are also discussed. There are 120 small and medium enterprises from France operating in Serbia with 11 000 employed. Investors interest grow and over the last three months 5 enterprises extended their readiness to start the production here, pointed Sanja Ivanic, the Director of French - Serbian Chamber of Commerce.   

Special attention is paid to the business operation and further development of the French company Trigano car trailers in Kragujevac that started to work in September 2016; It employs people with disabilities and with 220 employees and has a significant share in the export surplus of Kragujevac.   
The Mayor Radomir Nikolic, H.E. Ambassador of France Frederic Mondoloni and Jean-Baptiste Cuzin the Director of the French Institute in Serbia signed the Convention on Cooperation in the sphere of culture and education and a partnership in the domain of urban and sustainable development.

Francophonie is a large project of promoting French culture and language as well as substantial French contribution to the development of civilization. We are glad to be part of the project and it is very important to us to, at the same time, remind people not only in Serbia but in France as well of the traditionally good relations throughout the history that we mutually built – said the Mayor Nikolic.   

H.E. Ambassador of France Frederic Mondoloni considers that each important moment of cooperation from the past should be marked duly thus enabling us to develop in future and progress constantly transferring to the younger generations tradition of good relations.   

H.E Ambassador Mondolini appointed three months ago began to get acquainted with Serbia with Kragujevac, today.
