Within traditional international students exchange program, eight best students from Suresnes arrived in Kragujevac yesterday, together with best students from Kragujevac who came back from their visit to France.
A special welcoming reception was organized by Mr Nedeljko Manojlović, member of the City Council in charge of Education and Mr. Stefan Nikezić, Assistant to the Mayor in the field of Promoting Youth. On this occasion the hosts presented the program and schedule of the exchange visit the students and their mentors and wished them a pleasant stay in our town and Serbia.
Students’ mentor from Suresnes, Mrs Kenza Moisson, has come to Serbia for the third time through the exchange program and she commented that she looks forward to coming here each time and says that the people of Kragujevac are exceptionally hospitable. “I hope to spend a pleasant week here once again and I will try to use my impressions and experience from previous years to familiarize the students with Serbian culture and tradition in the best possible way.”
During a one-week stay French students will visit significant cultural sights of Kragujevac, visit Risovača Cave in Aranđelovac, Museum of Nature in Svilajnac, as well as Oplenac, Monasteries of Divostin and Drača, visit Belgrade and walk around Kalemegdan and Knez Mihajlova Street, visit the Tower of Avala. Sports and recreational activities will include a visit to Aqua Park in Aranđelovac and indoor pool in Kragujevac.
Our students who visited Suresnes have come back rich with memorable experience. “We spent one week in Suresnes and Paris and we managed to visit all the places and do all the activities organized by our hosts. We visited The Louvre, Orsay Museum, walked through Champs-Elysees, and climbed the Eiffel Tower on July 13th, French national holiday. We overcame our fear of riding the underground metro, while the best experience for us was the fact that we met a lot of young people from Spain, Germany, Austria and these new friendships will be the nicest memories, said professor Lela Šapić, mentor of our students on this journey. She added that the security measures were increased which is why they felt safe during their time spent in France.
International student exchange between Suresnes and Kragujevac is very important for broadening our horizons and learning about the culture and traditions of our peoples. It is especially significant because the children meet each other and form long-lasting friendships said Prof dr Nedeljko Manojlović, member of the City Council in charge of Education.
