Kragujevac always grieves in October

Traditional October reception for the delegations and guests of the City is organized by Mayor of Kragujevac Radomir Nikolic and his associates.

October 21 is the saddest page of our history, said Mayor Nikolic in his address. Tragedy which cannot be understood is recognized in the world as a symbol of suffering of the innocent with the single message – not to be forgotten. Not to be repeated ever. We are to remember, said Nikolic and to build bridges amongst people to struggle for peace and life.

Kragujevac is liberated three years later on the same date – October 21, 1944. That date so important in the history remains in the shadow of retaliation committed in Sumarice. That is why Kragujevac always grieves in October.

Kragujevac is supported by friends who came once again on this October 21 to pay their tribute to innocent victims civilians and pupils. The reception is also attended by the officials of the sister and friendly cities, the Ambassador of Russia H.E.  Alexandar Cepurin, Ambassador of Germany  H.E. Axel Dittmann, Ambassador of Slovak Republic H.E.  Dagmar Repčeková, Ambassador of Palestine H.E. Mohammed Nabhan, Ambassador of Austria H.E. Johannes Eigner, Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina Lazar Mirkic, Ambassador of Belarus H.E. Valery Briljov and attaches of the Embassies of Ukraine, France, Russian Federation and China.
