100th years are marked by wreath-laying preformed by Army Honored Guard at the memorial to 44 Slovak soldiers of the 71st Infantry Regiment of the Austro-Hungarian army who rebelled against Austro-Hungarian monarchy.
Wreaths are laid by the HE Dagmar Repčekova, Minister without Portfolio in charge of Demography and Population Policy Slavica Djukić-Dejanović, Delegations of the Cities of Trenčin and Kragujevac, veterans of Slovakia and Serbia and others. Veterans from Slovakia brought with them the earth from the birthplaces of each executed Slovak that was conscerated and spread over their graves.
The Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to Serbia, HE Dagmar Repčekova took the opportunity to thank all who with their presence paid the respect to executed soldiers adding, that each time she visits Kragujevac and the monument to the executed Slovak soldiers as well as the monument to executed schoolchildren and professors she comprehends the absurdity of the war and preciousness of life and family.
At this sacred place by the monument that symbolizes brotheren relations of Serbian and Slovak people, mutual aspiration to live in peace in a better world, by remembering we support the ideals for which the Slovak soldiers died. Their guilt was their decision not to participate in the slaughtering of the WWI. They were not ready to shoot to at the Serbian people with the guns forcefully given to them, said the President of the City Assemblez Miroslav Petrašinović.
This City has always recognized and respected their sacrifices. Kragujevac is the City Victim and to our misfortune has a lot of victims. That is the reason to send the message from this sacred place - "Kragujevac will never forget it".
According to the Minister without Portfolio in charge of Demography and Population Policy Slavica Djukić-Dejanović Serbian and Slovak people, geographically relatively distanced are connected by invisible links that substantially connect them. Love for freedom, resistance to tyranny and all kind of injustice are only segments of our mutual charcters.
The present are addressed by Jaroslav Kralj great grandson of Ondrej Kiš from Krepljan who visited Kragujevac for the first time to pay his respect to the executed.
Delegation of the Slovakia visited the Museum "21 Oktobar" and laid wreaths at the monument to executed schoolchildren and professors in the Memorial Park of Šumarice. The movie 44 was presented afterwards at the Kino room of the Museum.
