“The crimes that Germans committed against innocent civilians, among which there were many children are horrible. It is extremely important today and, in the future, to preserve the memory of these terrible events, to document them in detail and to fully inform the public about it. The Memorial park “October in Kragujevac” does this in an impressive and dignified manner,” wrote in the Book of Impressions His Excellence the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Serbia, Thomas Schieb, during his visit of the Memorial Museum October 21st in Kragujevac.

“I have been aware even before of the crimes committed by the German soldiers in Kragujevac in 194, but today I have had the chance to get detailed information about it, because it is important to remind of this horrible event and the Museum October 21st does this in a dignified manner, said the ambassador Schieb. Having in mind that the Museum has problems with leaking, the project has been initiated to implement roof repairs. As a contribution to the work of the Museum we expect and will do everything to have the roof repaired by October 21st next year,” said the Ambassador Schieb.

The Ambassador of Germany Thomas Scheib, during his visit laid flowers on the grave of the students and teachers shot in Šumarice.
