The City of Kragujevac is mapped as one of the cities for the implementation of significant environmental protection projects “Green Serbia”. It is very important that we act preventively and take care of the natural environment that is of great importance for both health and quality of life of people. I hope that such campaigns and actions will raise the awareness of people to take care of the environment for future generations, but also for our sake today, as it was assessed as very relevant, said Stefan Jovanović, assistant to the Mayor.

Kragujevac is eighth of ten cities in Serbia where Green Serbia project is being implemented this year by Serbian Radiation and Nuclear Safety and Security Directorate (SRBATOM) in cooperation with the Color Media Communications Company, with the support of the Provincial Secretariat for Urbanism and Environmental Protection.

Within the Project Green Serbia, for two years in a row, reforestation and landscaping of Serbia and rebuilding its eco-funds is being organized in ten cities and municipalities contributing to the preservation of our planet for future generations. In two years Project is implemented in 18 cities of Serbia and we are sure that the trees of European ash will enrich each of the cities and contribute to healthier and more attractive environment of the City of Kragujevac,

I came to Serbia at the beginning of this year and I am very happy to be here today and to have been given the opportunity to be part of such an important socially responsible project. At a time when the whole world is moving towards the expansion of technological and industrial development, we must not neglect the preservation of the environment because it is important both for us and for generations to come. That is why it is important that we all participate together and support the project anywhere in the world – underscored Khairul Tazril Tarmizi Head of the mission of Malaysia to Serbia.

In addition to Kragujevac this year project was realized in Zrenjanin, Backa Palanka, Priboj, Topola, Kikinda, Sremski Karlovci and Pozarevac. The partners of this year’s campaign are the Public Company Vojvodinašume, OTP bank Serbia, Lidl and Telenor companies.
